Update or remove Hallvi

Hallvi looks for a new release about once an hour. It installs one only when you press Update.

In short

An update keeps your applications, conversations, credentials and settings.
Updates never interrupt work. If the new version does not start, Hallvi puts the previous one back.
hallvi uninstall removes the program and keeps your data. Your applications keep running on their servers.

An update keeps your applications, conversations, credentials, SSH keys, connections, settings, ports and saved text drafts. Check attached images and unsaved settings before reloading the page. What's new, beside the version, lists the changes.

From a terminal

hallvi update            # look, then ask before installing
hallvi update --check    # look only

If an update does not go through

Problem	What to do
Pi is working	Updates never interrupt work, including a command waiting for approval. Let it finish, then update again.
The new version did not start	Hallvi put the previous version back. See `~/.local/share/hallvi/logs/update.log`.
Schema mismatch	This release cannot read your records, so Hallvi changed nothing. Keep your version, and do not delete the database.
Not signed by the key this Hallvi trusts	Stop, and report it. Hallvi downloaded nothing.

Uninstall

hallvi uninstall

This removes the program and keeps your data, so installing again brings everything back. Your applications keep running on their servers.

To remove your data too, delete	It holds
`~/.local/share/hallvi`	Database, conversations, SSH keys, application secrets, logs
`~/.config/hallvi`	ChatGPT, GitHub, Hetzner and Cloudflare connections

Before you delete them

They hold the keys Hallvi uses to reach your servers. Make sure you can sign in to each server without Hallvi. Rented servers keep billing until you delete them at your provider.
