Use Hallvi from another computer

Hallvi only listens on 127.0.0.1. To use it from a laptop, forward its ports over SSH.

In short

The installer prints two commands for your laptop, and ~/.local/bin/hallvi remote prints them again.
Leave the second command running, then open http://127.0.0.1:5747.
Hallvi has no login. Anyone who can sign in to its computer can open it.

Connect

At install, choose From another computer. The installer prints two commands for your laptop, filled in for your computer. ~/.local/bin/hallvi remote prints them again. For a computer named mac-mini:

Run this once. It saves the SSH settings to their own file.

mkdir -p ~/.ssh && ssh you@mac-mini.local '~/.local/bin/hallvi remote --config you@mac-mini.local' > ~/.ssh/hallvi-mac-mini

Run this to connect, and leave it running.

Open http://127.0.0.1:5747. The tab title ends with the computer's name.

A Mac mini must stay awake, with Remote Login turned on.

If something goes wrong

Problem	Fix
`ssh` says an address is already in use	On the computer running Hallvi, run `~/.local/bin/hallvi port 6747`. All ports move together. Then run both laptop commands again.
The connection dropped	Run the second command again. Hallvi and its work keep running on the other computer.
A private link stopped answering	Reopen it.
